A Little Leg

Although my legs are not quite the COLOR I want yet (no...bright white is not my favorite color...), all this training and running certainly has toned them up and made me so excited to wear skirts and shorts!  I still had to toss on a jacket when we went out...as it really only was in the low 60's this day...but the sun and the skirt action made me feel like it was well into the perfect 75 degrees!

{See my eyes?  I'm pretty sure you can imagine that someone is just off camera doing something not so kosher...}

Busy Little Bee

So sorry I've been M.I.A. the past few days friends!  There has been a TON of stuff going on...most of which do not include looking cute.  The first and foremost would be that I just ran a marathon on Sunday

Clearly this is before the race, where I am still standing.  JK...I actually did quite well for my first race!  Yes...first race.  No 5k, 10k, or half marathons.  I'm an all out kinda girl.  I'll tackle the hardest one first and then do all the "easy" stuff!

I've also been super busy with my Etsy shop going on.  Have you guys ever visited?  You may want to check it out!  The name just got changed to the cutest name ever.....LemonSqueezies!  I just love it!  I do just a little of everything...as it comes to me you know?  Boys ties for boys, knit hats and baby shoes and such, and tote bags and more!  Like I said....as the ideas come to me...things go up in the shop.  Soon to come....picnic blankets for summer!  Super fun!

And along the same lines of the knitting and sewing...I created this totally awesome hat for one of my favorite kids ever!  My best friends son is turning 3 and he LOVES his super heros.  So, for summer, he gets a reversible super hero hat.  Go Iron Man and Hulk!

These look totally odd when they aren't on the head of a kid...but it's awesome.  If anyone is interested, since they aren't in the shop yet, I can make one for your kids!  Just let me know!  (yes i shamelessly advertised my services and product on my own site.  I ain't to proud!  :)  )

So now I'm just on the couch trying to recover from running a whole crap load of miles.  My body has succumbed to the pain, so as soon as I get some feeling in my legs back and my feet stop throbbing, I'll be back, good as new!  Hope you all are having a busy, yet fun, spring time!  Love and kisses!

Photo Bombers

I officially have little photo bombers.  They here the click of the camera and come running in to pose.

This is Blue Steel.

This is my "hey lets go spend some money we don't have at Target" outfit!  Yay!  Just kidding....we did actually need stuff....like bananas.  And a waterproof running jacket because it's supposed to pour this Sunday.  Oh yeah....and that's when I'm running my marathon.  Really, Fate?  My first marathon...and you make it rain up in here.  Fantastic.

Surprise kisses made it better.  Not only is he a photo bomber...he's a ham in front of the camera.  He heard the beep beep and said "I kiss you."  I'm taken off guard...clearly.

The kids were being cute.  My "Awwwwwwww" face.  I don't remember what they were doing exactly.  Maybe the little one was feeding the big one.  I don't know how that started...but they love it.

The two dudes and mom.  Hunter (the big one) was yelling "Stop picturing and let's go to the store!  Go to Target!"  Alright, alright....I can't argue with excitement to go to Target!

Toned Down Neon

We had a small cold snap in the middle of all this 70 degree weather, which I found the perfect opportunity to get one last wear out of my fave sweater of winter, this neon "grellow" super bright knit.  I like how it's so bright and cheery for Spring, yet nice and cozy for Winter still!  It's the perfect contradiction!

I paired the acid green bundle of goodness with some, what I consider, more neutral pieces, which made it such an easy to wear, everyday piece.  The checked shirt peeking out and the brown boots are the perfect casual compliment to an otherwise loud piece.  And by doing this, I don't feel like the color totally overwhelms me.

Somebody got mad...I hollered at him for touching the tri-pod.

Now it's just funny...but he stayed there forever....

Seriously....forever.

Hairy Tale

Well it happened folks.  After 11 months (yes....E-LEV-EN..) of canceled appointments, being busy with X, Y, Z, and overcoming sickness after sickness...I have finally gotten out to get my hair did!!! AAACCCKK!! And I love it.  It's so much lighter and bouncier and just plain better.  So clearly these picks were taken before the appointment.  Nothing you all haven't seen (unless you're new...then welcome to the madness): Nappy long hair down...or always up in a pony.

For some reason...I feel like a camera dead on does not capture what is actually going on with myself.  Is that weird?  I feel like the picture in the mirror is more what I see myself like vs the camera on my face.  I know, strange.  Anyway...look at me now!

YAY!  Layers!  Bounce!  Health!  Huzzah! Can anyone give me tips to getting my face in focus when doing closeups?  Why does it seem like my camera focuse just a smidge to the left?  Anyway...Let me also tell you a little about where I get my hair done.  You may not believe it.  I go to the Hair Cuttery.  THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS!!!  The Hair freaking Cuttery.  I always go to the same girl (Kelly...what-what....she is AWESOME), but...again...the Hair Cuttery.  This is how I found her.  A couple years back i had a pixie cut.  No joke.  I went to my fancy shmancy $70 a cut salon (not including tip!)to get chopped and whacked at for (what?) 15 minutes.  15 minutes to chop a mane very similar to what I have now into a pixie.  She didn't listen...she changed what I wanted to something SHORTER (I know...than a pixie.  what the....the bangs area was just short and weird and all wrong), and I still had to tip.  I expressed that I was unhappy with the bang part, and she said to some back in a few weeks when it grows out a bit and she'll fix it.  When I did come back in....I HAD TO PAY HER AGAIN.  So 160 bucks, 15 minutes, me no likey.  I never went there again.

As it started growing out more, I just went to the Hair Cuttery down the street and figured I just need it shaped up, until it gets long.  Well I got the worst of the worst there.  My hair was TOTALLY uneven and choppy and it was a BAD cut.  Not like a good cut I didn't like...it was like my 2 year old could have done better.  Ok...so then I went back the next day....and heaven smiling down...there was Kelly.  I walked in, she smiled and said "I knew you'd be back...that was a bad cut."  She saw her co-worker hacking up my hair but isn't allowed to say anything.  She offered to fix it...and spent NINETY minutes on my hair.  It was so bad I basically had to get a pixie again....but that was THE BEST style I've ever had.  She did an amazing job.  OH....and the best part???  She didn't charge me to fix it.  NOT ONE RED CENT.  She fixed another "stylists" mistake and didn't charge me.  From then on she was my girl.  And the cost?  Its a standard $26 for shampoo, cut, and blowdry.  OMG.  I tip her anywhere from $10 to $15 each time because even a $45 cut is a STEAL when she's doing it.  She makes sure she spends time on your hair to get it right.  She's doesn't rush to get you in and out of the chair...and she totally listens.  I. LOVE. HER.  I implore you guys to not settle with your stylist if you are not 100% happy...and do not discount "lower end" places.  I found a gem. She's amazing.  I will stop gushing about her now cuz it has become creepy.

Anyway...hope you guys are having an amazing day.  I am!!!  I feel pretty!!!!  LOL!

A little bit Country

Clearly I need to do one (or all) of 3 things:

1) Find a good pose besides "skinny butt pose."  I cannot be bending over all the time.
2) Get those pasty stems into the sun.
3) Learn how to smile when not wearing sunnies

On the other hand...if you have not been blinded by my white legs, please notice my pretty crocuses that are popping up.  I planted the bulbs in September (first time doing that!) and didn't touch them.  They are bringing me such joy and I basically ignored them for 6 months! Oh how I wish that could happen with my children!  What? Who said that....

Lastly, please try on clothes in the store.  I insist.  This skirt looked about 3 inches long on the rack.  I don't even know why I grabbed it besides the fact that I really liked the print.  I thought it would be a bootie buncher for sure...and it is surprisingly the perfect length!  And SOOOOOO comfy!  I love it.  New favorite.

A Little Classy...and Little Trashy

I got this leopard print cashmere sweater a couple months ago but this is the first chance I've gotten to wear it.  I'm a little intimidated by animal print...because I think it can go really classy, or like the title of this post, really trashy.  However...being that this was a demure cardigan, it was automatically a class act.  I tried to casual it up with my favorite pair of casual jeans...but I think they may have been toooooooo casual.  Perhaps holes and leopard print don't mix.  Wop wop wop.  However...I highly enjoy my hair...and it stayed all throughout my 15 mile run too!  Yay!!

PS: I don't recommend 15 milers at the gym.  I literally went cross eyed.
