Cold Weather Comforts

DSC_1417
This was the first time in a long time that my husband has had 2 weeks with 2 days off in a row.  Kinda crazy, right? But this is the first time in a long time that he hasn’t been in business for himself (yet still has a 6 day work week…but that’s a whole ‘nother story).
So I digress…because he had 2 days off in a row this past weekend we were able to have a date day and drop the kiddos off at my in-laws.  We were going to head to New York, but being that the kids weren’t having a sleepover party, we decided to explore the local area.  We ended up taking a trip to Peddler’s Village out near New Hope, PA.  It’s this really cute little village full of boutiques, artisan shops, and thrift stores that’s sort of set in a colonial like setting.  Really fun just to walk around, despite nearly freezing temps.  And of course I saw a bunch of vintage jewelry in one antique shop that I was drooling over, but stuck to my “no spending unless absolutely necessary” resolution….and didn’t get any.
After coming home to let the doggy out, we went to the Iron Hill Brewery.  Totally great atmosphere and really good food.  After being sick for 3 days with a stomach bug…I definitely was hankering for a little drink and tried their beer sampler….yum!!!

  1. Ha! I love that one of the first things you do when feeling better is order a beer sampler. I would so do the same thing :-)
    So 2 things:
    1) Love the Old Navy jacket on you. Super cozy and chic.
    2) Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog. It was seriously one of the best ones ever and just made my day.
    Have a great weekend girl!
